Gavina Graphics specializes in many different types of prints for a variety of garments. We print on sporting apparel very frequently for schools, universities, companies and professional sports clubs.
Printing on polyester can be very tricky. Garments may not stick properly to the pallet. Low bleed inks are used which have different curing properties. All different companies 100% polyester garments are different and react differently to low bleed inks.
Here’s a little bit of steps and process taken for sports apparel made for a Chicagoland area high school.
The colors for both garments are a royal ink and a metallic silver ink. Screens used were 60-mesh count and 160-mesh count. The metallic silver is a very thick and burdensome ink and because of it’s consistency we would suggest 60-mesh count screen to be used. Any mesh screen higher, the ink is very difficult, if not impossible, to clear properly.
